On a bright and hopeful day at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, something incredible happened.
What started as a vision — to train and empower 2,000 people in every Nigerian state — came alive in a way that left thousands speechless and inspired. The event wasn’t just another empowerment program; it was a movement, a statement, and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when purpose meets action.
Over 2,500 people gathered to witness the first-of-its-kind empowerment program in the Federal Capital Territory — powered by 9jaFoodFiesta, supported by Her Excellency Senator Ireti Kingibe, and championed by the Honorable Minister of Youth, Mr. Ayodele Olawande.
We were honored by the presence of high-level dignitaries and representatives, including:
-
The Minister of State for FCT
-
Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs
-
National Commission for Persons with Disabilities
-
SSA to the President on Persons with Special Needs
-
National Sports Commission
-
Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries from various states
It was a deeply emotional and proud moment as 1,000 participants were awarded certificates, signifying not just the completion of a training program, but the beginning of a new journey — one filled with dignity, skill, and financial independence.
Our volunteers and Local Organizing Committee (LOC) worked tirelessly, ensuring that every detail was flawless. The atmosphere was electric. Media houses like NTA, AIT, BBC, Al Jazeera, and many others captured the event, sharing our story with the world.
But this is just the beginning.
We are committed to training 74,000 youths and women across Nigeria — 2,000 per state. And with what we’ve witnessed in FCT, we are more certain than ever that this dream is possible.
