REPORT ON THE CLOSING AND CERTIFICATION CEREMONY OF THE 9JAFOODFIESTA KATSINA EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME
9jaFoodFiesta is a dedicated non-governmental organization with a clear and profound mission to reduce unemployment and poverty in Nigeria by equipping young people, women, and persons with disabilities with practical, income-generating skills. In line with this mission, the organization aims to train and empower 2,000 Nigerians every three months, including at least 200 persons with disabilities, across various states in the federation.
In Katsina State, 9jaFoodFiesta successfully trained and empowered 2,529 youths, women, and persons with disabilities drawn from 34 Local Government Areas of the state. The beneficiaries received hands-on training in four major skill areas:
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Culinary Skills
- Agriculture
- Fashion Design (Tailoring)
Event Overview
The closing and certification ceremony of the Katsina Empowerment Programme was held on 13th December 2025 at the Muhammed Dikko Stadium, Katsina State. The event marked the official conclusion of the training programme and the formal presentation of certificates to beneficiaries.
The ceremony was well-attended, with over 4,000 people present, including government officials, traditional leaders, partners, beneficiaries, and members of the public. The atmosphere reflected celebration, achievement, and hope for sustainable economic empowerment across the state.
